What up! My name is Doug Newton. I've worked as a creative in the TV industry for 14 years, and I recently decided to focus more on my writing. I started this blog not only to sharpen that skill, but also to explore a new creative storytelling outlet for myself.

I grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island, then went to college at James Madison University in Virginia, where I earned a degree in video production. After graduation, I moved to Washington, D.C., for a couple of years to work with the Washington Capitals. I then followed a job opportunity and drove across the country to Los Angeles, where I lived for eight years. After the pandemic, I felt the need for a change and relocated inland to Las Vegas, where I now live.

Along the way, I’ve developed interests in music, travel, sports, and cars—just to name a few—all of which will show up as topics here. These posts will include my own photography, captured with whatever camera I have on hand, and will always be written by me, no AI involved.  I hope you enjoy!
